Florida Launch Sign Austin Kaut to Three-Year Deal

January 9, 2017
The Florida Launch and goaltender Austin Kaut have agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2019 season.

During the 2016 season, Kaut posted career highs in games played (13), goals against average (14.08), and saves (171).

“Austin has had great success in college and is continuing to get better every year in the MLL. His future is bright and we are excited he is a part of the Launch,” said Head Coach Tom Mariano. “He has the desire to be better every time he steps on the field.”

Kaut, the third-year veteran out of Penn State, has played with the Launch since 2015. He began his professional career with the Boston Cannons when he was the first goalie selected in the 2014 Collegiate Draft.

“I'm honored and ecstatic to be coming back to the Florida Launch for the next three seasons,” said Kaut. “When Coach Mariano offered me the contract, I could not have been more excited. Florida is a great place to play and we have an awesome fan base that is continuing to grow.”

With the announcement of the team’s in-state three game road trip to begin the 2017 season, dubbed the “Florida Tour,” Kaut expressed his excitement for the new experience.

“Our fan base in Florida is on the rise. With our team playing our first three home games in three different Florida cities other than Boca Raton is great. We will continue to grow the game and our fan base in Florida,” said Kaut. “Our team is chomping at the bit to get back on the field and show how great we can truly be. We are excited for the future of the Florida Launch.”

The first of the three Florida Tour games will be against Kaut’s former team, the Boston Cannons, on Aprill 22. To reserve your seat for all of the action, call 561-923-9067 or visit  www.floridalaunchlacrosse.com/tickets for more information.
