Last week, Florida Launch midfielder Jovan Miller held a special question and answer session on Reddit.com. During his "Ask Me Anything" interview, Jovan fielded questions on everything from the growth of lacrosse to how he got started in the sport.
Here's the rundown of everything you missed from his AMA:
What do you think lacrosse teams and players should do to increase popularity and make the sport more diverse?
Has diversity gotten better since guys like you and Kyle Harrison have gotten big?
JM: I think the game has to be introduced in non lacrosse areas at earlier ages to be honest. Kyle and I were in hotbeds to start so we were lucky.
at do you like best about playing at the professional level? Who are you closest with on the team?
JM: The friendships. The guys you [play] with every weekend end up being good friends of yours simply because you see them so much. They're ultra talented individuals as well as great people away from the field.
Steven Brooks and Cam Lao-Gosney but they're all great.
How did you get started playing lacrosse?
JM: I was randomly flicking through the channels when I was 13 years old and Syracuse was playing Princeton in the National Championship (Cuse lost ). After watching I was so intrigued I asked my mother to buy me a stick and I started from there.
Hey Jovan, where do you see MLL going in the near future?
JM: Well I know expansion is the big thing right now, but I believe for those who don't know a lot about our sport should be aware of how serious a sport this is and how appealing it can be to many athletes.
What is one sport you'd never consider playing outside of America/Canada?
JM: One sport I'd never consider would be probably be Cricket. I lived in the U.K. for a year and I tried watching and I was so lost lol.
