Kieran McArdle (5th Overall) – St. Johns University – Attackman
Kieran McArdle, the Florida Launch’s first pick of the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft, has been on a roll with St. Johns during his senior year. McArdle, who was named BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll twice this season including for his latest seven-point performance against Georgetown this past weekend. McArdle surpassed 200 career points and is one of only two players in school history to reach that achievement. McArdle currently leads the BIG EAST in both points per game (5.00) and assists per game (2.83), which ranks him fifth in the country in both categories.
Joe Meurer (10th Overall) – The Ohio State University – Defenseman
Senior defenseman and co-captain Joe Meurer is helping Ohio State lead the nation in clearing percentage at 98.9 percent. In the past six games for Ohio State, Meurer has tallied six caused turnovers and is currently ranked third on the team. Meurer, who is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a 2014 Face-Off Yearbook Preseason First Team All-American, was named one of 20 candidates for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award.
Ryan Creighton (12th Overall) – University of North Carolina – Midfielder
University of North Carolina co-captain Ryan Creighton has played in the past five games for the Tar Heels where he has tallied two points off of one goal and one assist. Creighton is currently tied at second on the team for caused turnovers with four. Prior to the start of the 2014 season, Creighton was named a 2014 Face-Off Yearbook Preseason Third Team All-American chosen as the Preseason All-ACC long-stick defensive midfielder. Creighton was also named as one of 20 candidates for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award.
Niko Amato (29th Overall) – University of Maryland – Goalie
In Maryland’s first six games of the 2014 season, Niko Amato has helped lead the Terps to a 6-0 start and has accumulated 339 minutes in goal. Amato boasts a 6.71 goals-against average, which ranks him fourth in the nation, and .608 save percentage, which ranks him sixth in the nation. Amato, who has started every game of his college career (55 straight), was named a 2014 Preseason Second Team All-American prior to the start of the 2014 season.
Bobby Lawrence (45th Overall) – Colgate University – Defenseman
Bobby Lawrence has helped lead Colgate to their 6-1 start and its defense to a .894 clearing percentage. Lawrence has started and played in all seven games for Colgate and has tallied 22 groundballs and 16 caused turnovers. He is currently ranked 11th in the nation with caused turnovers per game with 2.29.
Andrew Barton (53rd Overall) – Providence College – Midfielder
Senior Providence midfielder Andrew Barton is currently tied for first on the team for points with 22 and assists with 10, as well as third on the team for goals with 12 in the past seven games. Barton was mostly recently named to the BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll for his 11-point week from six goals and five assists against Fairfield and Sacred Heart.
Duncan Clancy (61st Overall) – Jacksonville University – Attackman
Senior Jacksonville attackman Duncan Clancy has played in six games so far in his first season with Jacksonville. In those six games, Clancy has tallied a total of five goals and nine assists for 14 points. Clancy is currently ranked first on the team for assists and second for points. This is Clancy’s first season with Jacksonville after playing for Rutgers where he led the BIG EAST in assists in 2011 and finished ninth in the nation in assists per game with 1.87.
